Pear & Ham puff Pastry
Prep Time: 10 min // Cook Time: 15 min // Total: 25 min // Serving: 4
Ingredients:
1 medium pear
½ cup water
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon granulated sugar
1 9x14 puff pastry sheet
4 thin slices of deli ham
6 thin slices of pears, 1/8 inches
Instructions:
Prepare the puff pastry sheet per package instructions
Pre heat the oven according to the puff pastry instructions
Make pear juice: Mix 1 pear, water and cinnamon in a blender until liquid consistency
Put the pear juice and sugar in a small pot
Simmer the pear juice on stove; stir occasionally until it becomes paste like consistency
Pour the pear paste into a small bowl and let it cool
Unfold the puff pastry dough and cut into 4 evenly sized rectangles
Place the 4 pieces of puff pastry dough on a parchment lined baking sheet
Brush a small amount of the pear paste onto each piece of puff pastry dough
Place one slice of ham on half of the puff pastry dough
Brush the ham with the pear paste
Place 1 ½ slices of pear on top of the ham and brush with the pear paste
Fold the pastry over and use the tip of a fork to press and seal the open sides
Poke small holes using a fork on the top of the puff pastry dough (about 6 times)
Brush the top of pastry dough with egg wash
Bake for 15 min or until golden brown
Let cool for 3-5 minutes before eating
