This banana wonton tarts recipe of mine is sweet, crunchy and delicious like eating a bite-sized cream pie. This recipe is also versatile for you to modify to suit your own taste buds. Swap out the bananas and French vanilla yogurt, for any fruit and yogurt combination that pleases you. Adding ground cinnamon and melted butter to the wonton wrappers add depth of flavor to the baked wonton cups. Have fun making and creating different fruit tarts with different combinations of fruits and yogurts. The sky is the limit


 

Ingredients:

Wonton Cups:

  • 6 wonton wrappers, thin style

  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • Banana Yogurt Cream:

  •  1 medium banana (ripe but not over ripe)

  •  1 -  6 oz French vanilla yogurt, (e.g. Yoplait brand)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. Mix cinnamon with the melted butter

  3. Brush the cinnamon butter onto wonton wrappers

  4. Press the wonton wrappers into the muffin tins

  5. Bake wonton wrappers in the pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 4 minutes or until light brown but not burned

  6. Take baked wonton cups out of the oven and let them cool on a cooling rack

  7. Slice 6 pieces of banana in a circular shape (coins) and set them aside

  8. In a dish, mash the rest of the banana with a fork

  9. Add the yogurt and mix with the mashed banana until it becomes a thick consistency

  10. Place one banana coin slice on the bottom of each completely cooled wonton cup

  11. Divide the banana yogurt cream evenly on top of the sliced banana coins

  12. Sprinkle cinnamon on top (optional) before eating
